MSM Ohio Middle School Championships Recap – April 26

The pins were flying and the future stars of Ohio bowling were on full display Saturday, April 26th, as teams battled it out at the MSM Ohio Middle School Championships.

After a full qualifying round, the top four teams advanced to a best-of-three Baker bracket. Leading the field was a strong squad from Gahanna - Lincoln/Sherwood Middle Schools, followed by West Clermont, a hybrid team dubbed "BBCDW" (featuring bowlers from Beavercreek, Bethel, Calvary Christian, Defiance, and Xenia-Warner), and rounding out the final four was West Holmes.

Semifinals:

  • #1 Gahanna - Lincoln/Sherwood edged out #4 West Holmes in a tight 2-1 series.

  • #3 BBCDW pulled off the upset over #2 West Clermont, also by a 2-1 score.

Championship Match: In a dramatic final showdown, Gahanna - Lincoln/Sherwood claimed the title with a 2-1 win over BBCDW, proving their consistency and depth in clutch situations.

  • Asa Wilson-Perry (Gahanna South) – 641 series

  • Andy Oswald (Gahanna South) – 623 series

  • Cameron Young (West Holmes) – 597 series

  • Graham Johnston (West Clermont) – 578 series

  • Landen Jackson (Calvary Christian) – 573 series

With the success of this spring’s event, organizers are already planning to double the excitement with two championship tournaments this fall—one in Northeast Columbus and another in Dayton. Stay tuned for dates and details as middle school bowling continues to grow in Ohio!
