Team Bowling Rankings
CincyBowling Team Rankings provide a season-long look at team performance using the verified results available in the CincyBowling database. Rankings are designed to recognize consistent performance while also accounting for competition throughout the regular season, tournaments and postseason.
How the Team Rankings Work
The ranking displayed on this page comes from the CincyBowling team-rating system maintained in the underlying database. Squarespace displays the finalized rating; it does not independently recalculate team performance.
Match results provide the foundation of a team's season profile and establish its performance across the normal schedule.
Tournament results provide additional information about how a team performs in larger fields and against competition outside its normal schedule.
Verified postseason performances provide another measure of team performance at the end of the competitive season.
What does a ranking represent?
A team's overall ranking represents its position among all teams in the selected Boys or Girls dataset. When filters are applied, CincyBowling also calculates a ranking within that filtered group while continuing to display the team's overall position.
For example, a team may be ranked #3 in the Southwest District while still being #18 Overall. The same system works for division, district, conference, school searches and combinations of filters.
Why keep both rankings?
Context matters. A statewide or overall ranking shows where a team sits in the complete dataset, while filtered rankings make it possible to compare teams within a division, athletic district, conference or other selected group.
