New coach Ritter ignites excitement and growth for Lakers program
There’s a new wave of energy rolling through the Indian Lake girls bowling program this season as first-year head coach Tiffany Ritter takes over with more than 20 years of experience in the sport. Ritter brings both expertise and enthusiasm, and her early message has already resonated: teamwork, growth, and belief.
“I think this year we’ll have lots of milestones to reach, both individually and as a team,” Ritter said. “We’ll have a JV and varsity team this year — 11 girls total — which is super exciting. I asked them to go out and recruit so we could have both teams, and they did just that.”
With renewed momentum, Ritter and assistant coach Jake Ammons (also the boys’ head coach) are focused on rebuilding confidence and creating a winning culture. “My goal is for these ladies to work together and just have an excellent season,” Ritter said. “They haven’t had a great bowling season in many years, but with this group, I want to push them to their limits and hope to have some placements and new records made.”
Leading the charge is senior captain Addison Castle, who Ritter praises as both a talented player and a natural leader. Junior co-captain Kacie Craft has already shown strong development early in practices, while sophomore Chassy Dolan is poised for a breakout season if she can “trust herself and focus on what she does right.”
Freshman Kyleigh Castle could also be a key difference-maker. “Not many freshmen can come in and handle the ball like she does,” Ritter said. “I’m excited to see what she can do.”
Ritter notes that the Lakers’ biggest strength lies in their unity. “They all know the game, they’re great at helping each other, and they show they care,” she said. “I see these girls really coming together as one this year.”
Indian Lake’s schedule includes early-season appearances at the BHS Classic and Kings Classic at TP Lanes, hosted by Bellefontaine — two tournaments Ritter believes will test and showcase her players’ potential. “These will really push them to be all they can be,” she said.
