Bombers Finish Fifth in Columbus
The Bowling Bombers returned to Columbus Square Palace for the first time since December 6, 2008. The Bombers drove up 71 to take part in the 13th Red & Blue Classic, a 26 team tournament where the Champion would be decided after 3 individual games and 6 bakers.
In game one, the Bombers' Mason Carota would lead the team with a 218 with fellow sophomore Luke Stigall throwing a 188 and junior Jack Kaiser shooting a 176. St. Xavier's 903 put them sitting 5th trailing behind Teays Valley (1062), Reynoldsburg (1050), Groveport Madison (973) and Westerville Central (928.)
Mason Carota kept scoring high in game two with the highest game of the day for the Bombers with a 222 (559 series). Juniors Jack Kaiser and Bradley Giuffre kept the Bombers in it with a 178 and 172 respectively. The Bombers 2 game total sat 1780 moving them to fourth. Teays Valley pushed their lead out to 2098 followed by Reynoldsburg at 1988 and Groveport Madison at 1903. The Bombers 870 game 2 was the fifth best score in the house.
In game three, the lane transition and fatigue impacted the Bombers. Bradley Giuffre and Jack Kaiser ended the day with a pair of 557 series, Giuffre rolling a 209 and Kaiser rolling a 197. Joseph Geers ended his day with a 172 (479 series). The Bombers put up an 896 for a total of 2676 but fell to fifth with a strong showing from Hamilton Township moving to fourth with a 2738. The top 3 remained unchanged with Teays Valley (3026), Reynoldsburg (2962), and Groveport Madison (2891).
In bakers, the Bombers averaged 175.8 for a 1055 series. It was not enough to move in the final standings with the Bombers ending the day in fifth. Reynoldsburg wins the tournament with a 4125 followed by Teays Valley in second with a 4115, Groveport Madision with 3994, Hamilton Township with 3886, and the Bombers in fifth with 3731.

Upcoming Schedule:
The Bowling Bombers are back on the lanes Thursday when they take on Moeller at Crossgate Lanes on the 11th, and then to Western Bowl for the Holiday Classic on the 14th. They then wrap up December with a GCL Quad at Northwest Lanes on the 17th and Oak Hills at Western Bowl on the 19th.
Around the GCL:
Elder beat West Clermont 2750 to 2500 and La Salle won at home against Moeller 2871 to 2055 on Wednesday. On Thursday, Moeller lost to Lakota West 2201 to 1995. On Saturday La Salle rolled in the Big Blue Championship.
Elder sits atop the GCL at 1-0 tied with La Salle. Moeller and St. Xavier are tied for third at 0-1 in the GCL.
