Astros Aiming for a fourth straight league crown under Coach Wallace
The East Clinton boys bowling team continues to set the standard in its conference as it chases a fourth consecutive league title under Head Coach Dale Wallace Jr. Wallace, who enters his ninth year with the program—four as head coach following five as assistant—has already tallied 80 career wins and built a culture of consistent success.
“Team expectation is to win the league again this year and continue to grow as a team,” Wallace said.
The Astros bring a blend of experience and youth to the lanes. Senior Zimri Mahanes steps into a key leadership role, while junior Dakota Lancey continues to grow as a positive voice for his teammates. “Zimri Mahanes being a senior this year I expect him to show leadership and growth with the new ones that’s coming up. Dakota Lancey being a junior this year I expect him to slowly take a leadership role and being positive with the others also,” Wallace said.
The team also welcomes several promising new bowlers who Wallace believes can make an immediate impact. “I got a couple first-year bowlers that are very good that I think will be a good asset to the team overall and I could see that giving us a boost that we need from others also.”
East Clinton’s mindset and chemistry continue to define its identity. “Our strength is we have a good mindset and starting fast. Our growth as we are also a very young team, so it will be a learning experience for some,” Wallace said.
The Astros have several key matchups circled on their calendar. “A few games that [we’re] looking for to is against Blanchester and Georgetown in our league, cause it’s always a good time,” Wallace said. “Bowling the Ironclad, Jeff always puts on a good tournament, also it’s always good to go up against some stronger schools and to get you ready for bigger moments. Marymont Classic, James always puts on a good tournament, and it’s great to see some of your competition that you’ll see in sectionals later on.”
With veteran leadership, new energy, and a confident mindset, East Clinton enters the 2025–26 season ready to defend its league crown and continue building on a championship legacy.
