Young Lady Indians look to build on tradition
The Fairfield Lady Indians enter the 2025–26 season ready to embrace a new era of opportunity and growth. Head coach Bob Bowen, who has led the program since 2019 after serving as JV coach from 2014 to 2019, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to a roster filled with emerging talent. Varsity coach Nedra Nichting joins him once again on the lanes, combining to guide a squad eager to compete and improve.
Bowen has built a steady foundation of success, recording 72 varsity wins and 118 total victories during his tenure. This year’s team may be young, but their energy and commitment promise an exciting season ahead.
Junior Natay Arnold, the team’s lone returning varsity member, will anchor the lineup and provide leadership to a group that blends fresh faces with familiar determination. Joining Arnold is Mauri’elle Ross, last season’s top JV performer, who looks ready to make an immediate impact at the varsity level. The team also welcomes two promising freshmen — Kristen Nichting, daughter of Coach Nichting, and Lucy Bang — both eager to establish themselves early in their high school careers.
While the Lady Indians continue to develop experience, their chemistry and work ethic have already become defining traits. The team’s youth brings enthusiasm and focus, and with continued effort, Fairfield is positioned to take meaningful strides forward this winter.
When it comes to key matchups, Coach Bowen didn’t hesitate to point out the highlights. “Hamilton is our arch-rivals so that match is always one we circle on the calendar,” Bowen said. “We share Rollhouse now with Lakota East, so that will be the battle for house supremacy. Seton is our Senior Night opponent. We've bowled them since I started coaching. One of our favorite tournaments is always the Lancer Baker Bash.”
With a mix of emerging talent and familiar passion, the Lady Indians are ready to write the next chapter in Fairfield bowling history.
